ABOUT

Hi! I’m Rakel, from Seville, Spain.
I discovered crochet 9 years ago, teaching myself through YouTube tutorials. My grandmother was an amazing crocheter and my mother a seamstress, but I never felt drawn to it when I was younger. Then, just before turning 40, I decided to make a scarf for my daughter… and that’s where everything began.

For a while I focused on clothing (I even crocheted coats!), but when I tried amigurumi, I knew I had found my thing: quicker projects, full of creativity, and space to add my personal touch. With each piece, I learned something new, and one day I realized I was actually designing my own patterns.

The turning point was the Colorful Fantasy Bird. It was a request from a friend, quite a challenge, and I was amazed to see I could create it from scratch. It wasn’t perfect, but it opened my eyes to the fact that my creativity had no limits.

That’s how Kpunto Crochet was born. As a teenager, I used “K” as an abbreviation for “qué” (Spanish for “what”), and I played with it like an exclamation: “Qué punto!” (What a stitch!). At first it was Kpunto Labores, but later I shifted to Crochet, with more coherence and heart.

Today, my mission is to inspire you to enjoy crochet as a way to slow down, disconnect, and reconnect with yourself. I want to help you crochet with joy and humor, and one day dare to design your own creations. The feeling of bringing something from your imagination to life is simply magical.

A little more about me

Besides crocheting, I love roller skating (I do routes of up to 14 km a couple of times a week), walking, hiking, yoga, and pilates. I also enjoy movies, series, and time with friends. While crocheting, I usually have tea or kombucha, and if it’s a calm project, I love listening to relaxing music or podcasts.
